12 Incredible Images captured on the Samsung Galaxy Note8

12 Incredible Images captured on the Samsung Galaxy Note8

I've had the Samsung Galaxy Note8 for the past three months now, it's travelled all over the world in my pocket and in its short life time its seen so much. From the mountaintops of South Korea, to the banks of the Oi River in Kyoto. From the icy heights of Austria to the lush green temperate rainforests right here in my backyard of British Columbia.

Full disclosure, I work with Samsung Canada on capturing content and I am an influencer for them, however, all opinions are my own and Samsung did not ask me to write this.

So why am I writing this? Because the Galaxy Note8 genuinely is an incredible phone with the capability of capturing stunning images and I wanted to share some of my favourite images that I've captured on the phone so far.

The Galaxy Note8 captures details, colour and contrast extremely well, as seen in the above images. I love capturing panoramas so I chose to use all of the beautiful infinity display screen when capturing these images. One of the strongest camera features on the Note8 is its ability to capture photos in very low light, below are some of my favourite images where the scene has been quite dark and the Note8 shines through!

Jigokudani, Nagano, Japan - Captured in Pro Mode in RAW at F/1.7 | 1/125 Sec | ISO 80

I captured a lot of the above images long before, or long after the sun had risen and set. Having full control over the ISO is a huge benefit to using this phone. There's a small amount of visible noise and a little bit of banding on the blue's in the images but nothing that distracts from the image and nothing that can't be removed with a little more time spent on it in post production.

You don't need to be a professional photographer to use the Note8, even in Pro Mode, it's a very intuitive and easy phone to use. That being said, if you don't want to edit RAW photos or handle images with file sizes that large, you can simply capture photos as JPEG's and still be blown away with the quality. Here are some photos that I captured as JPEG files then slightly edited.

Peyto Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada -   Captured in Auto as a JPEG File

There's a famous saying that the best camera is the one that you have on you. Having a phone that fits in your pocket with such a powerful camera is a great tool to capture any moment. Even as a professional photographer, I feel the need to be constantly creating images but don't necessarily want to always use my DSLR so the Note8 fills a void for me perfectly, I can use it any time and know I'll get a great image!
